Water use in Horseshoe Irrigation Company can be a very complicated issue, especially during times of restrictions. It is ultimately the user’s responsibility to assure they are only using the amount of water they are allotted to use based on the number of shares they own, lease or rent.
During times of water restrictions the water master will post the number of shares needed to run one head for 24 hours at each system posting location, this restriction will also be posted on this site home page. Company officials are available to assist in figuring individuals water usage whenever shareholders need assistance, please feel free to ask any time.
Horseshoe Irrigation Company must receive written notification whenever an individual is intending to use someone else’s water for any period of time. This written notification must be given to the water master and be approved by him before the use may begin. A water transfer request form is available here for your convenience.
There is a share holder list available here that lists the number of shares that an individual owns and the acreage that is being accessed. There is also a column that indicates if an individual is leasing or temporarily using someone else’s water shares. If this list does not indicate that you own or are using someone else’s water you cannot use it. We have gone to great length to ensure this list is as accurate as possible. If you find there is an error please notify a company official with details so that it can be corrected.
There are also acreage maps here that show what agricultural field can be watered from a pressurized sprinkler system. If your field(s) are not shown on the maps you can not water them without first contacting the company and receiving approval to do so first. Again we have gone to great lengths to make these maps as accurate as possible so please contact us with any errors that you believe there may be, however you may not water ground from a pressurized sprinkler system if it is not indicated on one of the maps or it is not indicated as being assessed on the shareholder list.
